Almost every exit poll predicted thumping victory for BJP in both Gujarat Himachal Pradesh. Second phase polling for 93 assembly seats ended in Gujarat today. Immediately after that different agencies and news channels came out with their predictions. Though the number varies, every agency agreed on one point that BJP is keeping its fort in Gujarat as well as winning Himachal Pradesh.
India Today-Axis My India group predicted 99-113 seats for BJP, 68-82 for Congress and 1-4 for others. Times Now’s numbers were like this – 109 for BJP, 70 for Congress and 3 seats for others. Republic TV showed 115 seats for BJP and 65 for Congress, and 2 seats for other. Leading psephologist CSDS-Lokneeti group predicted 117 for BJP, 64 for Congress and 1 seat for others. However, Congress’s vote share is likely to increase, according to CSDS-Lokneeti.
Actual counting will take place on Monday, 18th December.
